Belclaire families in McKinney will see new butterfly art downtown this spring

Categories: Belclaire Communities, Community News, Emerald Heights, McKinney Homes, Stonebridge Ranch | Posted: April 16, 2020 | Comments Off on Belclaire families in McKinney will see new butterfly art downtown this spring

Visitors to downtown McKinney will start seeing butterflies in various forms this spring. In April, monarch butterflies start migrating from Mexico toward North America where they live during the summer months. The city has projects underway to bring butterfly art pieces to McKinney’s cultural district to bring more people downtown and to educate them on the importance of monarchs to the ecosystem. One project, called Monarchs of McKinney, features eight oversized, steel monarch butterfly sculptures. These sculptures will have four-foot wingspans and will be painted by selected local artists. The sculptures will be permanently placed in various locations around The Square. A second project, backed by Hugs Greenhouse, will also bring butterfly art with two butterfly-shaped topiaries, which will also have four-foot wingspans. Topiaries are trees or shrubs clipped into ornamental shapes, but these will feature more than 200 plants seeded into the topiaries. As they bloom, white, pink, purple and red flowers will emerge. The topiaries will be placed on the corners of Tennessee and Virginia streets and Kentucky and Louisiana streets.

Families are flocking to McKinney and building Belclaire homes at Emerald Heights, the city’s newest affluent village within master-planned community Stonebridge Ranch.  The gated community offers its residents a full suite of amenities, outstanding schools in McKinney ISD and a natural setting amongst over 1,200 acres of open space, lakes and ponds. Homeowners here enjoy all the perks of living in Stonebridge Ranch including a swim lagoon with a sandy beach and sports courts. Belclaire Homes welcomes newcomers to the growing Dallas-Fort Worth area

Categories: Available Homes, Belclaire Communities, Community News, General Posts, New Communities | Posted: March 30, 2020 | Comments Off on Belclaire Homes welcomes newcomers to the growing Dallas-Fort Worth area

After a decade of huge population growth, Dallas-Fort Worth is expected to again lead the nation’s metro areas for the number of new residents. Between 2010 and 2019, DFW gained 1,349,378 new residents, ranking first among U.S. metropolitan areas. From 2020 through 2029, DFW is projected to welcome another 1,393,623 newcomers – that’s 17.9 percent growth on top of the region’s roughly 7,539,711-person population. For comparison, the greater Oklahoma City area was home to about 1.4 million people total in 2018. One of the reasons for such rapid growth in Dallas-Fort Worth is the size of its tech workforce. That’s why Belclaire Homes is busy building homes for families relocating to surrounding cities.

Belclaire Homes builds semi-custom homes in three fabulous master-planned communities: Windsong Ranch in Prosper, Emerald Heights in McKinney and Castle Hills in Lewisville. You can see some of our available homes here. Our model homes are now available for viewing by  virtual appointment. Get in touch with a sales representative to start your new home search today!

Holiday décor tips for your Belclaire home

Categories: Belclaire Communities, Community News, Holiday Entertaining with Belclaire Homes | Posted: December 4, 2019 | Comments Off on Holiday décor tips for your Belclaire home

The holidays are approaching fast but there’s still plenty of time to deck out your Belclaire home with festive décor! Because December is such a hectic time of year, we want to share some tips and tricks inspired by HGTV to make your home merry and bright without making it stressful or expensive.

  • Plan ahead. The holidays are supposed to be fun, not stressful! Make a realistic plan that won’t leave you overwhelmed.
  • Don’t stop at the entry. Bring your holiday décor inside. Little touches will fill your home with that warm holiday spirit, especially when entertaining.
  • Dim the lights. Most hardware stores sell inexpensive plug-in dimmers for your lamps that anyone can install. This creates an instant ambiance.
  • Cookies, cookies, cookies! Is it really the holiday season without treats? If you’re not a skilled baker, just pick up some pre-made cookie dough. The smell of cookies baking is a great way to get in the holiday mood.
  • Wrap your gifts. Gift wrapping can be inexpensive and eco-friendly by repurposing papers, bags, magazines and newspapers. Make it interesting by adding a unique ribbon or topper.
  • It doesn’t have to be expensive. Inexpensive ornaments from a discount store can look elegant and festive when grouped together. One idea is to decorate your mantel with different-sized clear or colored glass containers filled with similar-colored glass ornaments for a striking holiday display.
  • Less is more. This season is notoriously extravagant, but you don’t have to overwhelm your home. Try a few beautiful, special pieces to give your home a sophisticated holiday look.
  • Involve the whole family. Don’t try to do everything yourself. This time of year brings opportunities to create joyous memories and holiday traditions like decorating with your family.
  • Expect the unexpected. If a lot of people will be coming in and out of your home, fill a large bowl or decorative box with small, individually wrapped gifts. They don’t have to be expensive and your unexpected guests will be thrilled!
  • Have fun! It’s easy to let the holidays consume you. Remind yourself that this season is about seeing your loved ones, having fun and gratitude. Take a deep breath and enjoy.
