4 craft ideas to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Day

As the school year is wrapping up, teachers are swamped with closing out the school year. On Teachers Appreciation Day, no one is more deserving of recognition than the people who have devoted their time and energy to educating our children.Show your teachers how much they mean to you with a little gift! If you don’t know where to start, Belclaire Homes is here to help. Here are four craft ideas for your family to create together!

1. S’more Teacher Gift: This is the perfect little gift for your teachers with a sweet tooth! Now that our days are longer and nights are warmer, s’more season is among us. Putting this s’more kit together for your favorite teacher allow them to enjoy a sweet treat after a long day in the classroom. Plus, placing a cute saying at the top of the bag like “We need s’more teachers like you” will make their hearts melt (just like the marshmallow melts to the graham cracker).

2. Cactus Planter: Teachers help our kids grow into who they will become as adults. They help them learn not only what is in the textbooks, but also with how to deal with conflict, friendship, and more than anything, our teachers help our kids figure out who they want to become emotionally and professionally. Between the pop of color from the plants to the meaning behind the planter, your teacher is sure to appreciate this small cactus planter.

3. DIY Rule Vase: There are many symbols that represent learning and what teachers use on a day-to-day basis in the classroom. Rulers are something that almost every teacher has in the classroom. Why not take this symbol and turn it into something that is a decoration for the classroom! Taking a handful of rulers and gluing them around a mason jar, and then placing some flowers in the jar, will make the prettiest desk decoration for your teacher.

4. Oreo-DIpped Apples: This craft is for the teacher who likes sweet treats throughout the day! Apples are a symbols representing teachers, so why not play into it a little bit and give your teacher a yummy Oreo-dipped applepop! All you need to make these cute little cookies is a pack of Oreos, a bag of red candy melts, some green airheads and lollipop sticks! Before you know it, you will have a bouquet of Oreo apples!

Teachers are so deserving of recognition for everything they do for our families, our kids and communities. Whether you make one of the crafts above, branch out and find your own craft ideas, or even just want to give your teacher a hug at the end of the day, it is important to let your teacher know how much they mean to you this year on Teacher Appreciation Day.
