Belclaire Homes spoils your pup on National Dog Day

Just FYI:  your stunning Belclaire kitchen isn’t just for humans! Today is National Dog Day and that means it’s time to break out everything you need to make a treat for your pooch! Here are a few of our favorites for this special day:

Make a pupcake for your baby: If you like to bake, why not branch out and bake a treat for Fido! This one features bananas, potatoes, yogurt, peanut butter and honey. And it even has icing!  If you think your pup would lap up a more “savory” pupcake, try this one that includes shredded cheddar cheese along with apples and honey. 

Freeze some pupsicles: Freeze some chicken broth or peanut butter in a Kong and let your pup go to town! Not only is this a healthy treat, but it’s also easy to make with items you most likely already have. (Plus, it keeps pups entertained for a while!)

Put together a ‘barkcuterie board’: This is the cutest idea ever. We all know that charcuterie boards are trending right now so why not let your pup get in on the action. Buy an inexpensive cutting board or wooden plate and fill it with dog-friendly snacks like peanut butter, carrots, yogurt, apples and a few mini-dog treats. (Then pour yourself a glass of wine.)

Too busy to put something together? That’s okay. Your doggie understands. But make it up with a puppucino next time you drive through Starbucks. All will be forgiven very quickly. We promise.
