We’re fully immersed in all things fall but now it’s time to really get into the spirit of the season by heading out to our favorite fall-themed family-friendly activity – visiting pumpkin patches. You’ll definitely want to carve out some time to visit one or two on Belcaire’s list of top picks for pumpkin patches!
Hall’s Pumpkin Farm and Corn Maze
Hall’s Pumpkin and Corn Maze has something for everyone! Located in Grapevine, this working farm has pumpkins for you to pick right off the vine! If you’re up for a challenge test your navigation skills with a two-acre corn maze of 9-foot-tall stalks! You’ll be amazed at how hard it is! The kiddos will love getting a look at all the farm animals, goats, sheep, chickens and rabbits! If you take the hayride, you’ll even get to see some donkeys and cows! Hall’s Pumpkin Farm and Corn Maze opens September 30.
Dallas Arboretum
The Dallas Arboretum’s beautiful florals and landscaping are always a treat to visit! Their Autumn at the Arboretum: A Fall Fairy Tale will undoubtedly be gourd-eous. Autumn at the Arboretum showcases breathtaking colors of fall including 150,000 autumn flowers accented by pumpkins, gourds and squash. The garden will feature 100,000 pumpkins, gourds and squash from Floydada – the pumpkin capital of Texas! The display runs from September 17 through October 31. This year’s ‘A Fairy Tale’ theme will feature Cinderella’s carriage, the pumpkin village and a maze.
The Big Orange Pumpkin Farm
The Big Orange Pumpkin Farm located in Gunter runs from September 26 through November 25. Conveniently located near our Windsong Ranch community, visitors will have the chance to enjoy hay rides, a 6-foot hay maze, a petting zoo and young green pumpkins right on the vine!
Pumpkins on the Prairie
Head to Grace Avenue United Methodist Church in Frisco for this pumpkin patch. Pumpkins on the Prairie is open October 1 – 31. In addition to hundreds of pumpkins to choose from, the family can enjoy hay rides, free face painting, a bounce house and a pumpkin play area!
The Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch
The Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch is perfect for our Canyon Falls residents. With hundreds of pumpkins covering the ground you’re sure to find some for carving and decorating! At this patch you’ll find family-friendly activities like hay rides, a hay bale maze, a playground and a variety of fun photo ops! The Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch opens October 1.
Castle Hills Annual Fall Festival
We saved the best for last, the Castle Hills Annual Fall Festival. This annual event at the Castle Hills Village Shops and Plaza is always a hit in the neighborhood! The fall festival is October 29, free and everyone is welcome. This year’s festival will feature a pumpkin patch and decorating station, carnival games and bounce houses, obstacle courses and an exotic petting zoo featuring!
Grab your family, friends and neighbors (and a PSL and pumpkin scone) and pick some pumpkins! This is an activity the whole family can enjoy and we know you’ll have a gourd time!
